How It All Began

Founded in 2003, Activity Connection was born from the vision of co-founders Nancy and son, Doug—two people with different strengths but one shared mission. Nancy, an experienced activity professional, understood firsthand the daily challenge of keeping programs fresh, meaningful, and inclusive for every level of care. Doug contributed the technical expertise and business strategy needed to transform that challenge into a lasting solution.

When Nancy’s husband, Bob, retired from the corporate world, he joined the family endeavor—making Activity Connection not just a company, but a true family enterprise built on passion, purpose, and partnership.

Today, Activity Connection continues to provide thoughtfully designed, ready-to-use resources that save time, inspire new ideas, and—above all—help create those meaningful moments of connection.

Meet the People Behind the Scenes

We’re more than a company—we’re a collective of passionate people who believe in what you do. Our team is made up of activity professionals, artists, illustrators, writers, editors, customer service experts, print service professionals, designers, Dementia Practitioners, graphic designers, and more. Between us, we bring over 175 years of experience in senior living, life enrichment, and creative program development.

And outside of work? We’re a vibrant mix of personalities and passions—parents and grandparents, fur parents, travelers, gardeners, birders, model kit builders, wildlife supporters, and volunteers. Some of us love cooking, exploring essential oils, and kayaking, while others are into yoga, aviation, paleontology, Comic-Con, or even a little Taylor Swift. These passions fuel our creativity and inspire us to craft activities that feel fresh, human, and joyful.
