Activity Connection’s Art in Action Gallery
An online art gallery to honor the artwork from artists in your community
The process of creating art is an enjoyable and relaxing activity, an opportunity to truly live in the moment. The purpose of this “Art in Action Gallery” page is to give people at senior living communities and adult day centers the opportunity to display their artwork to family and friends, as well as the general public. Please take a few minutes to browse our virtual gallery.
Do you have a special artist in your community? We would love to exhibit their work here on Activity Connection. Just take a picture or scan in the person’s painting, drawing, or other project and attach it to an email. Permissions to use photographs of artists and art projects must be obtained before submitting to Activity Connection. Upload a picture or scan of the person’s painting, drawing, or other project to us via this form. If you would like, include a few sentences about the artist and even a photo.

Pauline Carr creates art from the heart. She is very creative and loves to draw, whether it be an original or a reproduction. Give her a simple craft and she brings life to it! The poster with giraffes is the winning poster from Black History Month. Pauline combines her talent with a concern for others, and the product is beautiful art that has a heartfelt message for anyone that sees it. In this difficult time, it is a joy to be able to share such hopeful and inspiring work.

Byron Center Manor, Byron Center, MI
Art submitted by Anja Smith
Anja Smith of the Byron Center Manor wrote in to share a beautiful project that her artists in Memory Care have worked together to create. This large-scale piece hangs proudly on their wall and acts as a conversation starter about the art and the artists themselves. The placard that hangs beside the colorful piece is a great conversation starter itself. We encourage you to read it, look at this art, and see what resonates with you.
“This art piece has been a large group project presented by the residents at Byron Center Manor. Just as our minds are complex and one may have a lack in one area, but an abundance in another area, so does this art piece represent the differences in each being, but putting them together makes an art piece that is one-of-a-kind, and if one piece would be missing, it would be incomplete. It shows unity in the shapes, colors, and even imperfections. Embrace your talents, your deficits, your knowledge, and experiences, and live in the now, the moment you are in and let your life shine.”
